What is in a name? For this name, the name of the blog that would be the written record of my daily life, a lot. It took me some time to decide. I thought about the business end of a name, the ease for readers to remember it, the difficulty of spelling, but most importantly I thought about what the name would say about the writer.
I settled on a name that might confuse some people. The word "Scriptation" is an old word, seventeenth century in fact. It's an extinct word in the English language, some might call it obsolete. It means "continual writing". It's not a word you'll hear everyday, it's a word with an old soul and some oddness to it. Some people may not even bother to try to understand it, but just skip over it because it's strange and old-fashioned.
So maybe the word describes the essence of the writer. Or perhaps the writer just thought the word sounded cool. Regardless of the true reasons, it's the word that will define this blog. Continual writing, through whatever happens to come the way of the writer. Travels and international moves, job changes and pregnancies, comedic days and painful moments. It will all be here, ready for the world to take in.
